November Fan of the Month

admin —  November 2, 2015 — 2 Comments

abel_oHi! I am Eric and I live in northeast Ohio.
Concerts are my vice, and I go to as many concerts as I can – in all genres. I’ve been a big Martina fan since the early 2000’s. I’ve been to her concerts in OH, IN, IL, MO, FL NY, PA, and NV. I once hit 5 Martina concerts in 10 days! I love her voice and her ability to draw you into a song and its meaning.  Martina fans are a special group and I’ve met many amazing people/friends through her music, fan club events and Team Martina charity work.  Over the years I’ve been able to meet Martina a few times. I have also worked with her band at a food bank in Massachusetts, and again when they helped me raise money for my favorite local charity, WAGS4Kids. My favorite Martina song is “Loves the Only House”.
At some point I hope to meet Martina’s husband John. He seems to be very friendly, funny and often stops for pics with fans! Glad to represent Martina as her November Fan of the Month!

Last week, Ellen DeGeneres shared a video of 4-year-old McKenna Stanchak singing Martina McBride’s “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” to her mom, Dianna, who is battling stage IV cancer. The video quickly went viral, racking up close to 30 million views and gaining the attention of McBride herself.

For Tuesday’s taping of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the host invited the mother-daughter duo to drop by along with a very special guest.

Dianna – who was diagnosed with cancer back in 2013 – thanked DeGeneres for sharing the clip, saying the whole experience has given her the “hope and courage” to keep fighting.

“She sings to me every day,” Dianna said of McKenna.

That’s when McBride came out to perform the emotional song alongside McKenna. You might want to grab a handful of tissues before watching the full performance, available below.

Martina To Be Featured Performer at November 8 ‘Give Thanks’ Event

Martina McBride will be the featured performer at a November 8 event in Nashville aimed at reminding people to “give thanks” during the upcoming holiday season.

“Give Thanks” – an event taking place at the city’s Bridgestone Arena, Sunday, November 8 at 6:00pm – was created a couple of years ago by the World Outreach Church of Murfreesboro, TN. Spearheaded by Pastor G. Allen Jackson, the event recognizes that it’s “getting tougher to pause and look forward,” especially as the holidays – a perfect time of year to stop and “give thanks” – arrive. This event aims to help attendees recall that fact as Thanksgiving and the holiday season draw near, via Martina’s music and words from invited speakers.

“We have planned this very special event of thanks to be great in every way,” says Jackson. “The invited guests include a unique mix of some of the most purpose-directed people on the planet, and they are eager to be here to share.” In addition to music from Martina, attendees will hear from evangelist Angus Buchan and author/pastor John Maxwell.

Tickets are available via Ticketmaster, at the World Outreach Church or at the Bridgestone Arena box office. For more information about this event, go to:

(Tracy note: Heidi is one of our website moderators, and has been such a blessing to me & Martina with all that she has done over many, many years. Thank you, Heidi, for the time, effort, support, and love that you give. Enjoy your much-deserved reign!)

Hi! My name is Heidi and I’m from Morgantown, WV. I became a Martina fan in 2000 and have seen her over 75 times in concert. My favorite song is “Independence Day.” Martina’s music means the world to me because it’s helped me through the roughest times of my life. I’ve been blessed to meet her on several occasions.
My favorite concert memories include: Moline, The Bluebird Cafe, the Morgantown show and many others!
