Yes, surely exact at the time of Goethe, but maybe today it's the opposite, our realtion with german people seems to be good even if it's never possible to agree on everything, it's the life, but I'm not sure that they drink a lot of our wines, they drink also often beer, sometimes an impressive quantity of beer ! in any case it was like that each time that I was in Germany when I was working.
