My daughter (age 19) and I are back from the blistering heat and high humidity, which is usually the case, in Nashville. This is "our" annual trip together...it's also about all the time we can stand being together for this length of time. Seriously, this year's trip was one of the best one's we have had in the four years we've been going. We got to meet more country music celebrities. We both cried when she met Taylor Swift during the 13+ meet & greet held at Bridgestone Arena.

We started the trip out with the BlockParty Parade and then headed to the CMT music awards. I was not disappointed with the award show at all and would love to do it again. Thursday, we went to two fan club parties...Lady A and Luke Bryan. I was a bit discouraged with the Lady A party...it took forever in a day. Luke's party was really fun...he didn't have a set list and sang what "we" wanted to hear. He was very down to earth. Friday, was just walking around the area...seeing a few performances at Riverfront and visiting the convention center. Saturday, we did pretty much the same thing, but walked around a little more of Nashville to see more sights. Sunday, we woke up around 4:00 in the morning so my daughter could wait in line (with all the other Taylor Swift crazies). I went back to the room and slept a few more hours. I then went to my first Martina McBride YWCA sponsored auction. This was a lot of fun and very eye-opening. I loved hearing the auctioneers with their ramblings and oh my gosh, the amount of money that was raised...Incredible!! I only bid $500 on an item that later went for about $750...oh well. Maybe next year.

All in all, my daughter and I will be back again next year for more CMA Fest...we cannot wait.
