Merry Christmas!

For blog #3, I am putting aside politics and just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all my Martinaville friends.

Christmas is without a doubt my favorite time of year! I can't believe this is the second one I have spent in Florida. I admit, it's still a little weird sitting out by the pool in 80 degree weather on Christmas day, especially when there is 2 feet of snow back in my hometown! But, with that said, I have really come to love living in Florida. It took awhile, but this now feels like home to me.

I was raised to always know one thing about this holiday, that the important thing to celebrate is the birth of Christ and that is always what this holiday has been to me, the birth of Jesus.

Don't get me wrong, I love, love, love buying gifts, and I can get caught up in all the hoopla of it. I always wait till the last minute to do my shopping, and I get very angry because so many people don't have a clue of how to be kind and enjoyable, however, I love being out somewhere and finding something and having that moment where it's like "Oh my gosh, that will be perfect for this person!"

But I could do without all the gift giving and gift getting, as long as I get to be with the people I love and the people that matter to me, well then, that's all that matters. Christmas is a time of year to put aside all ill feelings and just enjoy the moment and be thankful for all the blessings in your life.

I think this Christmas is going to be the best one yet. Probably because there may be a new girl in my life that I think is going to make me very happy. I had to get that in there, of course. Many people know that feeling when you first meet someone and the question you may ask is, "How come it took so long for me to find you?!"

All in all, I'm very happy where I am in my life. Sure, there are a few bumps in the road, but hey, that's life! And as Albert Einstein once said, "In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity."

I do have one little itty bitty problem about this holiday, and it has to do with how politically correct everyone is and how they walk on eggshells about saying "Merry Christmas." That's what this holiday is, don't be afraid to say it! I have friends who don't celebrate Christmas who still say it!

So that's how I will end this blog, Merry Christmas!
