Brrrr...but it has to be done.
Ok...off to the lake for the annual Polar Bear Jump with a bunch of friends. Kids are in their swimsuits and I have my camera (I am the designated photographer - someone has to stay out of the water and document - I pick me). The water will have ice crystals, and I'm foreseeing a lot of "shrinkage" for those that take the plunge...

They have a Polar Bear Plunge coming up in a couple of weeks in Louisville, Kentucky at the Ohio river. You wouldn't catch me jumping in that dirty cold water for nothing especially after seeing the news stories about people dumping waste and trash in it.

Wow Tracy, you've got a major set of guts! I am originally from Stony Brook, NY (Long Island) and I absolutely *hate* the cold weather. I just got back from there about an hour ago after a 10 hour drive, and let me tell ya, it is sooo cold up there! That is the main reason why I am glad I moved AWAY!!! You're making me cold just thinking about it!

It's crazy how many people take that Polar Bear Plunge! I couldn't do it! You're smart staying outside and capturing the action! Happy New Year to the family!! :-)

Wow! Nothing could make me stand around outside in this freezing weather, let alone jumping into a freezing lake. I've always wondered what is the allure in doing this. LOL I would be like you and be the designated photographer, I think.
