Martina McBride

After teaching elementary and middle school students for a total of thirty eight years , I am now retired for almost two years. Life was good then ,as it is now also. I do miss much of the interaction that I had with the children, but I frequently run into many of my former students working part time in local stores while they are in high school and college. Other earlier students of mine are even friends on fb. One of my students from back in 1978, posted their 4th grade class photo that I had taken and developed for them. ( Whatever happened to black & white???) A few others later posted it and they are frequently boasting as to how many hits they are getting o it!
Obviously,I have had a love of photography for many years and am continuing to pursue the hobby during the new digital age. Though the darkroom processing was fun back in its day, the computer and editing software is even more interesting and satisfying. (Of course, if one desire's, black & white photos are still possible.)

Now I photograph my West Highland Terriers endlessly, as well as friends, family, landscapes, sunrises, sunsets, flowers,foliage,lighthouses,and of course, MARTINA in concert.

Many years ago I toured eight countries in Europe over a six week period utilizing the EurRail pass. It was a wonderful experience and I still have all my slides to recollect my favorite sites. (Another great bonus for being a teacher, time to travel during the summer months!) During the years that followed I traveled cross country with 3 different motorhomes. I often revisited Yellowstone, The Grand Canyon, The Painted Desert, The Tetons & Jackson Hole with my camera by my side.

Through the years I have always enjoyed sports. I loved to compete in tennis, racquetball, softball, and tenpin bowling. Now I "actively" cheer on The UConn women's basketball teams(even attended the Final 4 Championship Win in San Antonio and the 2008 games in Tampa). I've been a Yankee Fan since I was eight and crazy for Mickey Mantle. I have remained a devout fan and Derek Jeter is now my fav.

I enjoy spending seasonal time on Cape Cod , where I take full advantage of the bike trails, walking paths with my pooch, days and sunsets at the beach, enjoying company, observing families of deer in a close-by meadow, relaxing, and photographing anything and everything!
