It's about being thankful
Can't sleep ... typically awake for a few hours working each night anyway. Been working on my "You in You" surveys. Occurs to me just how thankful I am that I've benefited from the talent and example that Martina sets for a little over ten years now. Except for last year, Bonnie and I have attended at least one concert a year. Going through withdrawal now ... can't wait for sign-up for Columbia, SC to come. Hopefully, the greenbacks will have arrived at the same time. I remember calling Bonnie into the TV room to see this girl sing on Baywatch. There was just something special about her. Never caught her name. Her voice and looks mesmerized me. 'Course I was only what 52/53 then. Now I'm mesmerized by waking-up in the morning. Just wanted to formally say thinks, Martina, for being an incredibly enjoyable part of my life, an inspiration to all that care and seek excellence, and an example for young women to fulfill their potential. Several months ago, I was taken by the comment of an attendee at one of Martina's concerts that a young Marine and his girl got up to leave. The Marine was in dress blues. He saluted Martina. It brought tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat. The Corps is all about excellence, commitment, and service to others. Martina is one person that deserves the salute of a Marine.
