At Martina’s recent concert in Coconut Creek, FL, she and Team Music Is Love sponsored a mobile food pantry helping kids and their families at a local elementary school.
Team Music Is Love teamed up with MobileSchoolPantry.org to give a cartload of fresh fruits and vegetables to 150 families in need. The mobile pantry took place at an elementary school just a few miles from where Martina performed. Families were welcomed into the school to choose from a variety of fresh produce, eggs, dairy, pastas, and canned goods.
Volunteers attending Martina’s concert and citizens of Fort Lauderdale, FL, volunteered to help set up and give food away before Martina’s show at the Seminole Coconut Creek Casino. Martina gave Mobile School Pantry a grant from her Music Is Love Fund to help them continue their efforts bringing healthy food to low income neighborhoods in South Florida.
Team Music Is Love is on the road this summer providing mobile food pantries to several towns on Martina’s 2019 tour. National estimates show that, on average, 1 in 5 children experience food insecurity each day in the United States.
