January Fan of the Month

My name is Michelle and I am from Dawsonville, Georgia. I am a Special Education elementary educator. I work with studentmms in grades 2-5. I have been married for 23 years, and we have two delightful daughters!  I enjoy crafts (wreath making), reading (historical fiction), and hanging out (eating out) with my daughters and friends. Strange fact about me…I own three pet rats.  I have been a Martina fan since early 2000. Her music is inspiring and very relateable for everyday circumstances. I have many songs that are my favorites, each one reminding me of my family members. “I Just Call You Mine” makes me think of my husband; and “This One’s for the Girls”…because it makes us dance silly in the living room when it comes on the radio or my iPod.  My favorite concert memory was my first Martina concert in Duluth, Georgia. Martina was performing “This One’s for the Girls” and while she was walking up the aisle I went up to her and hugged her and made her mess up her next singing line…oops! I started crying, looked up and Martina winks back at me! Since then, I have met her at two fan club parties.  I was also lucky enough to meet her again at the “Soundcheck for Kids” last September. I had the best time getting to know many other fan club members. I don’t think I sat down once for the concert. Martina really does have the best fans in the world and I am thrilled to call many of them friends!  I’m not sure when my next “Martina moment” (concert or m&g) will be, but I’m sure there will be a lot more in my future!

Michelle, I worked with special needs adults for ten years, so I know what you’re talking about. Even though it was very challenging, it was far more rewarding and I wouldn’t one moment of it for anything in the world. You keep up the good work with your kids.
