CONGRATULATIONS MARY JOY!

My name is Mary Joy, and I am married and have a wonderful 13 year old son and 2 dogs. I live in Garland, TX.  I am a Merchandising Assistant and have worked for the same company for 34 years.  I really enjoying traveling and have been able to travel all over the US and Holland and Belgium.  I am a BIG country music fan and love going to see concerts live.  I am a new fan club member but have loved Martina’s music for a long time.  Her music is so real to life with all the emotions.  Some of my favorite Martina songs are “A Broken Wing”, “Concrete Angel” and “God’s Will”.   I finally got to see Martina live in concert on Dec 5th in Oklahoma City.   I was blown away by the energy in her show and her stage set up is fantastic.    I have not met Martina yet – but I still have hopes to meet her in Bossier City in February.  The ticket to that show  is a birthday treat for myself -so to meet Martina then would be AWESOME!  I had hoped for 3 shows in a row in February but the other 2 were taken off the tour list.  I hope they do re-schedule a show somewhere in the DFW area before the end of the tour.

A special episode of Opry Live featuring Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Jake Owen, and Rodney Atkins is set to air on GAC: Great American Country this Sat., Dec. 19 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern. The special was taped last month at the historic Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville.

Some of the performances fans can look forward to seeing on the show are Underwood’s “Cowboy Casanova,” her most recent #1 hit from the just-released CD Play On; McBride’s current single “I Just Call You Mine” from her 2009 release Shine; Owen’s lead single from his current release Easy Does It, “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You;” and Atkins’ “About the South” from his earlier release If You’re Going Through Hell.

Meanwhile, the Opry is set to round out 2009 at the Ryman with performances by a bevy of new stars and all-time favorites. Among those scheduled to appear: Jamey Johnson, Jimmy Wayne, Darryl Worley, Chris Young, Terri Clark (Dec. 15); Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, Ralph Stanley (Dec. 18 & 19); Ronnie Milsap (December 19); Blaine Larsen, Dailey & Vincent (Christmas Day); and Restless Heart, Dailey & Vincent (Dec. 26).
