MARTINA MCBRIDE DROPS 20,000 POUNDS OF FOOD ON NASHVILLE DURING CMA FEST

In honor of CMA Fest, Martina McBride and her Team Music Is Love charity initiative partnered with One Generation Away to help those in need in Nashville. The organizations came together to give away 20,000 pounds of fresh produce and staple food items in a mass food drop at The Fairgrounds Nashville on Friday, June 9, 2017.

More than one thousand attended the mobile food pantry hosted by Martina where families in need received a week’s worth of groceries. Martina personally greeted each family. Children in attendance also received free summer reading books compliments of The Word Wagon.

A Feeding America study reports that 1 in 6 adults in Tennessee suffers from food insecurity and 1 in 4 children in metro Nashville goes to bed hungry at night.

Through Team Music Is Love, Martina partners with non-profit causes to help many of the communities she’s performing in and invites fans to join her team in making the world a better place through the power of music.

During CMA Fest in Nashville, Martina’s fans joined her from 25 states and 3 countries to unload food trucks and bag food to give away to families in need.
