1st Thing Eaten on Your Thanksgiving Plate?
What is the first thing that you eat on your plate? Is it the same each year? Do you eat the same each year or try new recipes?

I am tempted to say "stuffing," but that is inaccurate. should say "dressing." I learned about 10 or more years ago that stuffing baked in the turkey cavity is a potential health risk, so now I do it outside the bird, always homemade, in a casserole dish. Dunno why, I forget to make a simple thing like dressing year round.
I LOVE gravy and sauces, anything that will hold such always gets my first attention.
Always (try) to do the recipes that have been in my family for years and try to add a new one, or two. I learned the hard way to try out new recipes, regardless of how good they sound, before the holiday.

Well I can tell you what the first thing would be that I would eat - "stuffing" or "dressing" -
either one would do !!
You certainly make my mouth water - love all of these
traditional US dishes - great food but as I said the thing that really really does it for me is "stuffing" or "dressing" - and maybe at the end of all of this wonderful food - if there is even room in my belly
then there would be some apple cake or possible some carrot cake, which I really love too.
