I would really LOVE to hear Martina perform "Stand by your Man" live, she kills it!

After viewing this today, I know Martina could sing this great song, "One" by U2 with or without Bono. I love what Mary J. Blige did with song, she brought more passion and soul to it. Martina could bring her type of country soul to this song and redefine it once again. Martina has the voice and her brand of passion and soul that exudes from within, the requirements for this song.

The Pretenders, "Brass In Pocket" would be a natural for her. I think it would be a lot of fun for her as well.

Well, at the live chat, she cited Pat Benatar, Linda Ronstadt, and Heart as her musical influences growing up. With that said, she's already done Pat's "Hit Me with Your Best Shot" as an encore cover, and she did Linda's "When Will I Be Loved" at GNO (which I loved!), so I'm still holding out hope for Heart's "Alone"!!!

I think it would be awesome if she did a Melissa Etheridge or Lori McKenna song!(:

Even though Martina already sang "Unchained Melody" at Stand Up to Cancer with Aaron Neville. I would love to hear Martina sing this at her concert. When I watched this with my husband, we both cried (it was/is our wedding song). ALTHOUGH, I agree that Martina does not need to cover any one else's song...THEY need to be covering her songs.

I agree that "Alone" would be AWESOME, but I also agree that I'd prefer her sing her own songs. I love hear her sing songs that were never released as singles like she did at the fan club party 2 yrs. ago...once in a lifetime set-list!

Does anyone know if anyone other than American Idols cover M's songs in concert?

    lots of great choices -
I'll take either new covers or Martina's own stuff -
I would personally like to not hear some of the covers she has done the last few years - we kind of been there and done that...
I like it, when there are at least two songs in the encore -
the first is rather uptempo and gets the audience standing
and the second is just her - singing a slower song/more moving number that leaves everyone completely captivated...

so many of these are great ideas. I would also love to hear her sing some classic country women songs like:
    1.Crazy
    2.Sleepin' Single
    3. I was country when country wasn't cool
    4. Strawberry Wine
    5. I will always love you
    6. The Greatest man i never knew

It would be really awesome if she did a song like "Top of the World" by the Carpenters! Or even any of their songs!(:
Let's face the music and dance.

I was on Cloud Nine the night Martina and Lynn sang "Rose Garden" together on the Opry, so I'd love to see Martina do either Lynn's "Cry" or "Keep Me In Mind." Lynn hits notes on both of those songs that are way up in the stratosphere, and there's no doubt in my mind that Martina would do them beautifully!

I'm sticking to my original thoughts and hoping HARD for her to sing "Alone" by Heart. (And...I would melt if she'd add "Over the Rainbow" to the setlist.) Just sayin'.

Here are my thoughts. I can hear her singing:

Kokomo- Beach Boys song. A fun song!
Dancing Queen- Abba. I can and can't for this one. It's a fun song though and she'd kill singing it.

Non- fast song. Walls by Tom Petty. I hear her singing this song all the time- just wish it was real!
