New Cover Song for Martina : Martina McBride

Wasn't quite sure if this should go in the Main Room or here, but...

With Martina's upcoming single and CD release (even though it's a little ways off, yet), it got me thinking about the tour already and what song(s) she'll cover. This is our chance to share what we'd love to hear her sing!

Personally, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear her cover Heart's "Alone." Her vocal range is perfect for that song and I know it'd be KILLER!!! Any others you can think of??

Lawdy, lawdy YES!! I have been annoying, i mean, askin Martina for YEARS to sing "RESPECT" i wld also like to hear a cover of "TATTOOED LOVE BOYS" by the Pretenders but that WILL NEVER HAPPEN!! or, id LOVE to hear a cover of "MALIBU" by HOLE....

I second the "Alone" & "Respect" choices. Would love to hear Martina perform them.

...and HELLZ YES! i think martina would SLAY "Alone" !!! i went to see martina at the Opry a while back, and Wynonna was there the same night. If my challenged memory serves me correctly, i believe Wy covered ALONE...and all i cld think of was this...SURE wish M wld grab that mic frm her and show her hows it done!! I like Wy, but her overly-dramatic eye rolls(some lasting as long as 4.2 seconds) and her penchant to hold a note for ever so long(or as long as it takes for the audience to collectively gasp in awe at her ability to hold said note), takes away a lot from her performance for me... i much prefer the way martina puts across a song and i think she would out-sing, out-perform wy on that tune..

I just want Martina to sing Martina.
When she does other stuff at her shows I feel shortchanged. She has so many great songs that we rarely hear anymore, it's not as is she runs out of repertoire. (And we surely don't need more worn out 70's pop-rock that wasn't much good to begin with.)

I know Carrie's fan club picked the cover song for each concert from a list of 3 choices of genres. Not that Martina needs to copy that idea, but I'm sure she appreciates knowing what her fans want to hear!

Love the choices so far...keep 'em coming! Maybe, just maybe, she'll use one of our song suggestions for her upcoming tour! That would be s-w-e-e-t!!!

Martina would "SLAY" as Amy puts it "Alone" or any cover she does. I love that song. There is quite a list going on here that I will have to agree with. I love Martina's own music as well, but it is so energizing to hear a cover that you love done by her...

That would really be something that would be awesome her singing my favorite song of all time her voice is the best so it would be a pleasure to hear her doing this song !!!!

I would prefer that Martina sing her own material. If she were to sing a cover song, how about a song she sang in tribute to another country artist such as 'The Dance'; 'Whoever's In New England'; 'I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool'; 'When Somebody Loves You.'
For the encore, how about a gospel medley including 'How Great Thou Art' (she did this around 1995) and close with 'Anyway'?
When she sang 'Anyway' at the end of the CMT awards a few years ago, she had everyone's full attention and the power in that song had people in amazement. She looked so beautiful in that white light and white dress. Many people tend to walk out during the encore. Who would want to walk out during this? Just a thought.
