I've heard it once, when she was taking audience requests during the "Timeless" tour. Really wonderful to hear live.

    Good call!!
Martina sang this (not as part of the encore, though) when I saw her live in London last July.
It's always been one of my very favourite songs of hers and I was really hoping she'd perform it that night for us. You can imagine how thrilled to bits I was when I heard those opening chords.....it made my night!!

I've only heard it once myself, back in 2005, one of her very few shows that year. I just think it would be awesome to bring back, especially on this tour.

I requested this as a encore song. The last time I heard it live was at the Moline DVD taping a few years ago.
If I had to pick a single song that had the most influence to me personally, this would be the song.
Not only the lyrics are great, but there is something about the way the drum and bass are like the rhythm of a heart beat and also the guitar cords are fantastic and the mandolin playing is super.

I don't know why she asked us that question at all.
It seems that she is locked into ending her show with two 80's rock song covers now.

I'd prefer she add Safe, and maybe Wrong Again, and drop Lean on me.

Hopefully Martina is re-thinking the cover songs and that may be a reason for her asking the encore question and it takes a few weeks to implement the set list change.
I agree with others ( we have discussed this before) Having almost 1/5 of songs in concert cover songs just doesn't make any sense when Martina has a multitude of great songs her fans want to hear her perform.

    Here Here! Full agreement!!!!
I wouldn't mind it at ALL if she only did one or two covers. Like the one she does from Timeless...cover, that's one. Then pick just one more. Leave the rest of the set for HER songs. 2 in 19-20 songs is just fine by me.
I mean, she has SO many amazing songs in her library to pick from. Choosing some that haven't been heard for a long time live would just be SO special for her long time fans!

I really do hope she is planning to take our poll suggestions, and implement a few for her encores!

But, I also know she's an 80's rock chick at heart too, and she has a ton of fun doing those songs. I want her to have fun on tour. But there needs to be a limit imho on those covers.

Regardless of it all tho, there is no better live show on earth to me than a Martina concert. I'll keep going no matter what. Unless, as I said elsewhere, if she EVER drops WWYB. If that happens, I quit going to her shows.

Yeah, we got a Bon Jovi song.
Audience were too busy catching beach balls to pay attention.
Less than stellar choice. The balls and the song.

It definitely is an odd way for her to finish a show. But...she's said it herself. She brought in Huff to re-energize her, knowing that he rocks things up alot. Shine has alot of more rock influenced songs on it that previous releases, and it'll be the same with the next one she does with him. Plus like I said, she was a huge 80's rock fan. I can understand her desire to do those songs. She seems to have a ton o fun with them.
It's not country for sure. But Martina has always been all over the map. Not strictly in just one genre.
Also, most of the really successful artists these days are doing the same thing. Mixing it up. In order to compete, I guess she kinda has to do it too.

I've still not had the pleasure yet of being there live and in person when she does Summer of 69 tho. I was always a big Bryan Adams fan...still am. Maybe with the next 2 shows I see, I'll get lucky.

Martina! Do Summer of 69 at Ky or Evansville ....PLEASE!

My feeling is, she wants to end her show on a party note. 2 Rock songs and beach balls are definitely a party.
I'd personally like to see that part dropped, but it's her show. If she has fun doing it, I guess that's a good thing. I sure don't want to see her get bored and burned out with touring and just stop.
When in doubt, always do the RIGHT thing from your own heart.

I see no problem at all with the cover tunes at the end. The audience and the band seem to have a great time with them and isn't that what its really all about?

I too would prefer her to do her own songs, with maybe just one cover, like most acts do. Some of her older stuff that newer fans may never had the chance to see live before.

You know I will. You got her to sing Wild Angels, so it's the least I can do.

She did SITAOL in London but not Dublin. It's so hard to please everyone and keep it fresh for her and her band and she has a massive repetiore.I love that song though. I personally loved Dont stop believing-its an anthem and she rocked it. I think one massive 80's power ballad is aweomse.Something fun for them and us. I didn't rate the bits I seen of Jovi on You tube, its a hard song to sing with massive range but it's still an awesome show. I'd prefer 1 less off the Timeless album, but for the people who love the more older country,it works well. Again,it's a matter of trying to please everyone. If I had the choice It would be every album...ooooo say a 4 hour show lol...
