Interesting theory that deer hunting effects concert attendance, But it most likely the economy in general.
I suspect that as the word gets out how fantastic the show is, future attendance will be better, especially the shows with Trace.

That's true also but, Deer Hunting is HUGE in Wisconsin & Minnesotta, kids stay home from school to go hunting on opening day. Here is a picture of a 25 point buck taken in donstate IL.

I think the seating config being used is due to the size of the venue itself, too.

Interesting about the deer hunting theory. I had the same theory about a race attendance this year because of a big rival football game between our two Universites.

Last night after the concert my daughter and I saw 10 deer through the mist on the way home. I was driving very, very carefull and slow. There are so many deer that each hunter in a party around here is assured of getting one if they hunt for the meat only and not the trophy. Hard to believe in the 50's the deer population in Iowa was about 10,000. The deer that missed an oncoming neighbor on the same road and got my husband's truck did $2,500 worth of damage and he was driving 40 miles an hour.

Around here deer are pests, like rodents. But rodents can't kill you. Deer can , and do.
I think the hunting seasons need to be expanded dramatically.
