I LOVE Scandal! There is a video on Youtube of her singing The Warrior or is it Goodbye to You? It was taped live in concert. Sorry, don't know who posted it.

Two songs that I would love to hear her cover are "Given to fly" and "Nothingman" by Pearl Jam. It would be easy enough to change the one word in the former to make it acceptable.

Heidimorris wants her to cover "Yellow Ledbetter" but I am not sure even Martina can purposely misprounce words like Eddie Vedder can. Great song but no one has the foggiest idea what the heck the lyrics actually are. LOL

"Thank U" by Alanis Morrissette would be interesting too.

I also would love her to cover Pat Benetar's song "Invincible"! That is one of my favorites, too. I would love her to do some Heart as well!!
My dream finally came true on 10-3-08 in Charlotte, NC! I finally met Martina!!!:)

I would prefer that Martina sing no cover songs. Just stick to her songs. I go to Martina's concerts to hear her sing her songs, not someone else's songs. Martina has more than enough material to choose from, that is just hers, to fill more than the amount of time for a concert.

Please Martina, just stick to your songs. They are the best and no one can do them any better than you.

Two years ago there was a post that had a news comment about M from someone that knew of her from the Summit Bar at Harry & Rock Rd. in Wichita (way back in the rockin mid 80's ) He said that Martina had a cover record on the jukebox there of Whitney Houston's "How will I know" Hmmm, perhaps 2 much Potter in his Harry pipe facts. True, she had a cover record on the jukebox there-Hank Williams "Your Cheatin Heart" But the record playing there of "How will I know" Really was Whitney Houston but it sounded so like something that would come out of Miss Schiff's head and that I can easily understand how he made that mistake.
Relativity, Well, Relative enough that I can relate 2 it.

    I Agree !
I bet most folks would agree of "no cover songs" if they found out that their most favorite Martina song was replaced on the set list by a non-Martina average cover song and they missed out on enjoying their favorite song because there was 4 cover songs that took up 1/4 of the concert.

I love cover songs...when they are in the encore they just feel like BONUS songs and not replacements (to me)! Of course too many would be bad. I think that two is just right! The thing about cover songs is that they give an artist a chance to sing a song that is different from their regular set of songs so it adds variety which I like. Also, they let an artist show off their versatility. As much as I already love Martina, after she sang "Don't Stop Believin'" and I was thinking 'Steve Perry, who?' I had even more respect for her.

I want Martina to sing Heart's "Alone." (Among others!)

To a percentage of the audience at every concert, the highlight of the evening is often the 80's cover songs.

I want to hear her sing Lean on Me. I've seen the video from youtube and I'm hoping to hear it live this year. Although I do 80's songs, I think it would be cool for her to sing Girl's Just Wanna Have Fun.

A Patty Smyth or Scandal song would be awesome. I am a big Patty Smyth fan also. I hope Martina keeps Summer of 69 in her set again. She absolutely nails it!

While I love most of Martina's covers (esp. "Over the Rainbow") I have to agree- I love most of Martina's songs and would love to hear more of those in concert. While Martina doesn't over do the covers, there are quite a few country singers out there (ahem, Phil Vassar, ahem) who really milk the covers. Most of the songs I like by artists aren't even released to radio- I would love to hear more of those live... in my dreams, right? lol.

I forgot about her singing Show Me. That would be really cool to hear that live as it is an amazing song off the Martina cd.
