Another national anthem gig
McBride plans to spend Thanksgiving with her family in Nashville. On Nov. 27, she will be singing the national anthem at a football game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers in her home state of Kansas.

Oh, man, I wish I could be there for that, but that's just too long of a road trip for me right now. Wonder who she'll be rooting for that night?? I mean, she'll be in her home state singing at the Kansas City Chiefs game, BUT everytime she has sung for the Pittsburgh Steelers, they have WON!!! Hoping this holds true!
(I also hope this is televised, but I have a feeling it won't be.)

I would love to see this as well. But we all know that Dallas Always plays on Thanksgiving Day.
They do televise more than one game though. So keep your fingers crossed.

I don't know. Well, maybe I'm wrong, but we watch the Steelers every week and I have yet to see the National Anthem televised before a regular season game. Although, maybe that's because it's not a celebrity doing it. ?? Or, maybe it's because if it's not Martina singing it, I don't bother listening.

Isnt this game on a Sunday? i thought Detroit always played on Turkey Day..anyhoo- if the NFL knows whats good fer 'em, they better televise Miss Thang singing the anthem or I will, um, oh, nevermind..

That's HILARIOUS!!! Not sure what's funnier, the mistake of that editorial, or the fact that none of us caught that none of us caught that until now!!!

Unless this is a neutral site game, the Chiefs play in Missouri, not Kansas.
Just saw this thread was going to say their are 2 Kansas Citys, The Chiefs play on the Missouri side. It will be a sunday game. The only 2 games on Thanksgiving. Detroit and Dallas will always be home games. Detroit hosts Green Bay and Dallas will be hosting Miami -

There is a 3rd game on Thanksgiving. The 49ers are in Baltimore on the NFL Network. The Chiefs being the home team on Sunday, I sure hope they win, just to keep Martina's record going

I looked into going to this game since we will be in KC this weekend. It's an evening game. When I pulled up tickets, it gave me two for almost $500. So not only can we not go because it's an evening game (we wouldn't get home until almost 4 a.m. and boss would NEVER let me take off the Monday after a 4-day weekend), but I couldn't afford the tickets!

NBC stinks. They televise a 45 min. pregame show. Then another 15 min. up to the kickoff but go to commercials so as to not show the national anthem. I guess they couldn't spare the extra minute or so to show it. The Subway commercial was more important. I remember this same thing was done on another televised game. Even if you cant cut commercials you could easily delay a minute of the announcer commentary until after the anthem. Do other sports do this?
