And the point of this post is what?

$35 is so cheap!! I'm not sure what the point of this was- over 5000 people still went to martina- I wonder how big the venue is...

Not sure of the setup, but this is from the event center web site:
    Seating

    See Floorplans
Up to 7,884 depending on the event
Upper bowl seating (permanent seating) 3,462, includes handicapped area
    Temporary seating 1,978
    Floor seating 2,444

A second article says Selena Gomez was sold out there at ~5,900

    yeah he said this

    Overall Revenue was $156,741.

    Her act cost $153,500.

And there were $17,687 other expenses for production, equipment rentals, catering, sound and lights, production, and an agency fee, which I don't know anything about.

That puts her act as a $26,444 loss for the Fair.

    Does that make more sense?

I dunno...are the including the other expenses as part of her act? Or is that just how much she, personally, got paid.

This person has a problem with first grade math!!LOL and second of all, shouldn't the other expenses be divided between all the acts just not Martina, oh wait this person can't even add so why do I think they can divide!!LOL to me Martina made the fair a profit of $3,241 period :)

Very odd...Doesn't make sense unless the 5,165 "sold" tickets didn't really bring in $35. Maybe some of the $35 went for something else (venue fee, service charge, etc). 153,500/5165 =~$29.72

The funny part is an earlier article said Selena Gomez had sold 6,266 tickets by July 9, 2011...but this one says she sold out at 5,904 (did the miscount by 362 tickets). http://www.chieftain.com/gomez-the-hit-of-pre-fair-tickets/article_b6a31906-a9f0-11e0-8a68-001cc4c002e0.html

Then there is this article that says Martina tickets were $40. http://www.chieftain.com/life/local/good-show/article_3e852644-cebc-11e0-bc1a-001cc4c002e0.html

Another says the tickets were $35 earlybird price, but $40 after a given date.

yeah im not really sure- i just took the answer and let it go LOL

    he also said this .

Acts do have some equipment, but not all. It's pretty normal for arenas to rent sound equipment for an act. That's what the Fair normally does. And a lot of acts don't event bring all their musical instruments, so they rent saxophones, guitars, trumpets, things like that from local people

I don't know for sure, but I highly doubt Martina rents sound equipment or instruments.

I have one more thing to add, since this reporter is making a big deal about the Band Perry making a profit. The fair probably booked them atleast 6 months ago, try and book them now, I guarantee there price has atleast doubled, lets just say they got lucky.
