Pittsburgh Show
Anyone hear anything about the canceled Pittsburgh show yet? Doesn't look like it is on the tour schedule yet. Still not sure if I am better off hanging on to the ticket order or getting a refund. What is everyone else going to do?

Re: Pittsburgh Show
I have tried since August to get a refund for my tickets and was told that Vanessa from Ground Ctrl will be th contact regarding the Pgh concert. At one time Vanessa did email me stating she would ask for permission to post an update regarding the Pgh concert, not sure what happened. Some type of communication should have been made, so sad this matter was not a priority. I know one thing for sure Ground Ctrl is a lousy bank...they have had my money since June and I have 0% interest.

Re: Pittsburgh Show
I notice the status has changed to ATTENTION. I have no clue what that exactly means, I am at the point of just prefer a refund and call it a Day. I think it is well past time to hear something more official.

Re: Pittsburgh Show
Gotta admit total confusion on that status mrm. I'm gonna just try and stay positive and see what happens. Still hoping to see something show up in the Pitts, Clev, Erie area now that we're starting to see Martina talking about her own tour following the GS/MM tour.

Re: Pittsburgh Show
I think they just didn't have enough room to change it to ATTENTION - WE ARE WORKING ON THIS PROBLEM - NO, REALLY!!
Supposing is good, but finding out is better.

Re: Pittsburgh Show
Two days ago (3 Feb), I submitted a support request with ground(ctrl), and basically told them that if it were true that the concert was cancelled, to please process a refund immediately. They haven't responded yet, but hopefully they will respond when the workweek starts. As a side note, their refund policy states "...we will refund the price that you paid for your ticket. Service fees, processing fees, and any other fees, such as delivery fees, are not refundable." Well, I was charged $7.95 shipping charge, but nothing was ever shipped. I would like to think that they will refund the entire amount, and not attempt to use this disclaimer to make money on us for something that they did not do. Assuming, of course, that they actually ever issue refunds. Small amount - big principle.

Re: Pittsburgh Show
and here was their response...
"This particular event is being rescheduled but we will be issuing refunds to fans who purchased tickets to the original date via check. If your shipping address has changed since this purchase has made, please respond with the updated address so that we can ensure that the check gets sent to the correct location. We will leave this ticket "open" so that we can notify you as soon as the funds are sent back to us from the promoter and checks get mailed. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns, and we apologize for the delay on new news and we thank you for your continued patience."
To which I responded:
"You say that it is being rescheduled, but that information seems to be unknown to anyone who has purchased tickets. The word on the forum is that it was canceled, and that the original venue has been repurposed. So, our guess was that she would be appearing at another venue.
Do you know when it will be rescheduled and if the original tickets can be used for the new date?"
No answer yet. -
Re: Pittsburgh Show
We should not be expected to hound ground(ctrl) continuously in hopes of getting answers. Where is the sense of urgency to get things fixed on their part? If you don't keep the customer informed they will assume you are doing nothing.
Thanks for the updates, by the way.

Re: Pittsburgh Show
Refunds by check? That's no good to me - it will cost me $30 to cash a US cheque in the UK. Why on earth can't they just refund to the credit card used for purchase like any other reputable ticket selling organisation??
You would think that as we have all had to wait many, many months for news on this that they would offer to re-credit funds with a 50% bonus to our fan club number (In effect a credit note) - to be used against future purchases.
You know I haven't moaned about the show being cancelled (Even though we travelled from England for it), we haven't complained about the lack of news - thinking that they're still trying to do something. But this bullshit about "as soon as we get paid by the promoter..." Sorry pal. Couldn't give a toss. We paid Ground Control. Ground Control should refund us and take it up with the promoter. -
Re: Pittsburgh Show
Called Ground(ctrl) again today and spoke with Jill.
She asked around, and the general consensus was that it was truly cancelled and not being rescheduled, as there was no word from Martina’s “camp” about rescheduling. They are not going to refund anything until they are reimbursed by the promoter, and that apparently has been somewhat of a frustration for them. Whatever… should not be our problem.
I asked her if she had any idea when the refund would occur, and while apologetic, she had no clue when we would get our money back.
The only good news is that they should be refunding the entire amount (including shipping charges), since nothing was ever shipped. Their refund policy states that refunds will not include shipping charges.
Seems to me that Tracy or someone from Martina’s Camp needs to step in and put pressure on these bozos. They have had our money for nearly a year, and something should be done. I can’t imagine that there are more than a few dozen of us in this pickle, so it is not going to break anyone’s bank to DO THE RIGHT THING!!!!

This whole thing has been frustrating however, Tracy has nothing to do with ticket sales. Not sure who would be in charge of looking into this.

Re: Pittsburgh Show
Heidi, it might not be Tracy, but somebody in the Martina organization needs to hold ground(ctrl) accountable for their actions (or inactions). They are very cavalier about the funds of some of Martina's biggest fans - which they obtained via her fan club. If for no other reason, they should be concerned about public relations and the trust that we place in them to manage our funds and identities.

I don't dispute that this needs to be corrected--we are also owed money for this concert. I would just like to know for sure who has the job of dealing with refunds, so I know the correct person to complain to.

Hey, wanted to updated everyone on this. I have just spoken with the promoter (Finally) and they have agreed to release the tickets and issue us a refund as they have been holding the funds pending a new date.
We will begin to process the refunds sending all of you check to the address you have on file here http://martinamcbride.com/account/address
You will be getting an email in the next couple of days with all of the information followed up by a check.

If this is not the address that you want your refund check sent to, you are able to update your address on that page as well: http://martinamcbride.com/account/address -
Re: Pittsburgh Show
I received my refund check today and it wasn't the full amount. Heck it wasn't even the full amount that I paid for the tickets and shipping costs weren't refunded either. This is just wrong!

Re: Pittsburgh Show
It doesn't seem right for Ground Control to make a profit from a concert that never happened!!! What a horrible way to treat the fans! Fans need to pull together and refuse to buy tickets from Ground Control from now on! What a terrible representation for a great artist! They do Martina an injustice!!!

Re: Pittsburgh Show
There are many possible reasons why we didn't get full refunds.
1) The dog ate it.
2) St. Patrick's Day beer money ran short.
3) Mugged on the way to the post office.
4) Inaccurate slide rule.
5) Bet on Harvard to win it all in the NCAA tournament.
Or it could have just been a mistake. I would think that they have easy access to the same database that coughs up the totals for our orders, so it shouldn't take much to straighten this all out.
