LOVE NEBRASKA!! the people are so friggn NICE!! (..and the chicks are waaay smokin' hawt, jus sayin') Last time i flew, Delta "misplaced" my luggage- but this trip was stellar!!! ..and listen to this coup- we stroll up to the Alamo counter for the rental and the girl sez, "Hi, how are you? How was your flight? What brings you to Omaha? Can i help you find anything?"---------- WHAT?- You are kidding me- i have resided in the ATL since 94 and all i EVER git asked is, "What'll ya have?" This girl was so nice!! then she sez, "Would you like the midnight-black souped up Dodge CHARGER or the fuel-efficient toyota Camry?" Yeah,well, after mulling that over for 1/18th of a milli-second, we realize thats a NO-BRAINER!! These two middle-aged lesbians snatched those Charger keys faster than Mindy McCready falls off the wagon... On to Martinafest!! Soundcheck at 3-ish... the band was rockin'- we file in and slum it in the front two rows- martina comes out looking waaaay cute in jeans and a grey tshirt(no, she didnt borrow it from John) and sez hello, yaks a bit, wants to know if dayna enjoyed her birthday, and yada yada...Disclaimer: more on THAT...LATER.....so, martina begins with...WILD REBEL ROSE!! and it is UN--#$(*)&%-Believable!! Seriously, yall- i got chills and still have 'em!! Then, a little help here people- i cannot for the life of me remember the order, but thats OK cause Martina had a small, infintesimal issue with the lyrics on ITS MY TIME..BUT, the song was AMAZING- LOVE this tune and martina KILLS IT!!! also, FROM THE ASHES- ummmm- take that CMA voters- take that and give it a good listen cause that was a sound-friggn-check performance and that was pitch-perfect AND yet she was left OFF ur ballot...musta been an oversight or maybe somebody spells Martina McBride like this..ZACBrownBand(Oh no, i dint jus go there...ooohhhh) ... OK- then we git SHES A BUTTERFLY- I love this LIVE!! I skip it on the CD(go ahead shoot me- especially canadian Anne..I can hear ya loading ur shotgun right now) but to hear this live is a revelation- its a gift for your auditory senses, yall!! So, we give her a huge card, a REALLY, REALLY cool cake with a pic of the band and martina on it and flowers and then she was so COOL to come down and take seemingly endless pics and sign some thangs 4 her fans!! i vowed to kick the asses of ANY individuals in Nashville that were responsible for her not getting ETOY and Martina just laffed and graciously let it slide- I wasnt kidding, GRRL!! UR GAYZ would be ALL OVER that!! Anyhoo- We (Vicky & I) saw some of our fave PEEPS!! Rabbit, michelle, valerie(cheesecake), nonie, sue, Jerry, Gloria, Dakota, and her incredibly precious boytoy, i mean, guy- CHAD, Becky, PERKS (PeggyK) & CRAZY MARY!!! (seriously, if ANY pics of mary & i surface that are, well, kinda compromising, just blame PHOTOSHOP!!!) Just a little aside for all of ya in the future..when embarking on an elevator ride WITH mary, please be sure to NOT allow her to operate any buttons/levers/controls......we spent 15 minutes just SUSPENDED in the elevator while she was yakking on and on about being some singer's cousin(NO wait, sorry, wrong story, wrong person- MARY was yakking on and on about how amazingly nice i am, yeah, thats it...) ...and then met lots of new peeps- lawdy, lawdy lemme attempt to remember 'em here-- jalisssa (maynard), Ken, juanita, jessica, elizabeth, megan, Beth(who i had the pleasure of annoying last year as well), becky and can everybody else just give a holla if i missed ya??...and to anybody i told that i was PAULDA on the forum- I was TOTALLY kidding!! THANX to Keith for setting this awesome experience up for all of us and thanks to DAYNA, SUE, NONIE for taking care of the rest of the bidness for the PAR-TAY!!! Ya'll ROCK!! Martina's band was so awesome to come over to us at the end and exchange pleasantries and talk with us!! as usual, Martina's peeps were outstanding- THX to MARTINA & JOHN & Huge THX to Steve, Hively, and thanks to Meesha, Theea, Bull and all the rest of the gang... Outta here- I missed soooooo much...but my fried brain cant recall all of it!!!!
