Martina recorded a song for Loretta's tribute album that is being released November 9!

To honor Loretta Lynn's 50th career anniversary, a diverse group of artists has contributed tracks for the November 9 album release of Coal Miner Daughter: A Tribute to Loretta Lynn. The artists personally chosen by Lynn include (in alphabetical order) Sheryl Crow, Steve Earle, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Allison Moorer, Paramore, Reba, Carrie Underwood, The White Stripes, Lucinda Williams, Gretchen Wilson, and Lee Ann Womack. "I am so happy that these singers wanted to do this record," says Loretta. "I love 'em all, and it was so great to hear all the different ways they did my hits," she said, referring to how each artist recorded with their own choice of producer and musicians. "I hope people like it as much as I do and we sell a bunch of records!!"

I'm kinda wondering which one Steve and Alison will do?
    The Silent Night will shatter
From the Sounds inside my Mind
And I'm one too many Mornings
    And a Thousand Miles behind
    Bob Dylan

I also can't wait for this. I just wish Patty Loveless would have been on it. She would have been the perfect choice to sing "Coal Miner's Daughter."

Oh, this is such great news! I just saw Loretta Lynn last Sunday and she was still amazing. Her voice is strong, though she had to sit for a lot of the show. That's not to say that's bad...God Bless her! Going strong at her age- I should be so lucky! I thought of Martina as I watched the show, because of her connection to Loretta at the Grand Ole Opry and smiled when Loretta sang, "You Ain't Woman Enough." Let's hope we get to see Martina on her 50th anniversary tour!!
