CMA Music Festival
I am watching the CMA Fest on TV right now. They only said Martina's name once at the beginning of the show when they mentioned all the performers. Since then, they have not mentioned or shown her, but have shown many others! It is making me mad! But maybe they are saving the best for last, which would be the one and only Martina! ;)

I second that! As much as I loved seeing Martina do WBW, how could they *not* show her performance of "A Broken Wing." I mean really!?

I was shocked when they started playing "Wrong Baby Wrong!" I thought FOR SURE they would air "Broken Wing" after all the press with the l-o-n-g ovation at the CMA Fest for that song that night, but...I'm just glad to see her on this special! It WAS a stellar performance, as usual!!

I was shocked when they started playing "Wrong Baby Wrong!" I thought FOR SURE they would air "Broken Wing" after all the press with the l-o-n-g ovation at the CMA Fest for that song that night, but...I'm just glad to see her on this special! It WAS a stellar performance, as usual!!
Oh and BTW, I guess this wasn't the case with you or you would have mentioned it...channel 4 out of Pittsburgh had NO SOUND. So I have a lovely visual recording.

Didn't they show "Broken Wing" on last years televised show? If so, that would be why they didn't show it this year.
I was very disappointed that Martina and some country acts only got one song shown, while Kid Rock, like him or not, got two and he is not country and didn't even try for one of his 'more country' type songs. (btw he is Not my cup of tea...to be polite) I came in at 8:30, so I missed a good chunk of it, if I'm wrong about her only getting one song on, then kindly disregard this post... its late in the am and I should be sleeping.

Broken Wing at this years CMA Fest was the single most awesome performance and ovation I have ever seen. Tia may have posted a video of it earlier,l but if not, you can find it easily on YouTube

I recorded it on my DVR, but I have seen about 3/4 of the show, but I have not seen the beginning or Martina's performance, but I did see Taylor's performance of 'Mine', what do you guys think of her new song. I posted a link to the video in the Country Music Room, if you want to check it out!

I was disappointed like someone mentioned above that Kid Rock sang like three songs, and quite a few other artists including Carrie, Keith, etc sang two and then they only show Martina singing WBW! It's a short song! Whatever, at least she was on the special!!!

I forgot about some of the CMA fest. I saw Reba perform 'I Want A Cowboy". Then I saw Kid Rock perform with Uncle Cracker. then I switched channels. When I tuned CMA fest on again, Kid Rock was doing his 2 songs. I then turned off the TV and went to bed. I felt as if I was watching a Kid Rock concert. I will have to catch the video of Martina. I am just happy that she was included on the show. Some artists never even got that opportunity. What they should do is broadcast one performance from each artist. Why do some artists always receive special treatment?

I have mixed reviews. The crowd was clearly having a good time. I waited until the very end to see my two faves, Martina and AJ and it was only one song each! Great performances, but the way that this event was publicized, it was misleading to be given only one song by such veteran performers.
At times, I felt like too much attention was being given to the current heart throbs and teen idols. Of course, I am generalizing here, I realize that there are more mature fans of those that I am referring to. I mean no offense here, I really don't. I think a few others over 40 can back me up on this one. I love having young people around here, it keeps me on my toes and brings back a lot of great memories. IMHO, it would have been far more enjoyable for me to see a more respectful balance.

As others have said I don't think Kid Rock should have gotten two spots. I like his music, but I'm pretty sure CMA stands for COUNTRY music association. I just think that a country artist should have gotten that extra spot. But I guess you can't change it so whatever.

No, it wasn't just recorded that way. The whole time the show was on there was no sound on 4...and after. We hoped that when we played it back it would have sound. Nope. Also, 4 was the only stations that didn't have audio. Go figure.

I thought it was a terrific performance of Wrong Baby Wrong...as always, killer vocals, and for some reason, they seemed even MORE sharp and powerful! I was glad to see a performance of a hit from SHINE...Martina was fantastic as always, and she LOOKED incredible, as well. :)

Wow I didn't know this! I was at school when it aired and someone at home recorded it, but I guess there is no use in me watching it if there's no sound. Here's the youtube link for anyone else that missed it or had no sound.Thank God for youtube!!
