Songs that mention other songs
In the car earlier, I was listening to the satellite radio station that plays classic country. The song "(After Sweet Memories) Play Born To Lose Again" by Dottsy (anyone remember her?) came on, and it got me thinking about songs that mention other songs. So, can you think of any songs that mention other songs? Also tell us what the "mentioned" songs are. They don't have to be country, and the mention doesn't necessarily have to be in the title. I'll start:
(After Sweet Memories) Play Born To Lose Again - Dottsy
Songs mentioned are "Sweet Memories" and "Born To Lose," both of which have been recorded by MANY different people! Ray Charles did both, Willie Nelson had a hit with "Sweet Memories," and Kitty Wells had probably the best-known recording of "Born To Lose."

Going with a fairly recent example, Brad Paisley's "This Is Country Music" covers a big bunch of them, including "He Stopped Loving Her Today," "God Bless The USA," "Stand By Your Man," and many others! Johnny Paycheck's "Take This Job And Shove It" even gets an indirect reference! I LOVE this song of Brad's!!!!!

Moe Bandy's "I Just Started Hating Cheatin' Songs Today" starts out with a mention of Barbara Mandrell's "The Midnight Oil" ("Today the midnight oil's all over someone...") and goes on to include lots of others, including Jeannie Seely's "Can I Sleep In Your Arms Tonight Mister" and Mel Street's "Borrowed Angel."
