Certainly "Anyway" does, I wrote about its affect on me in my profile. Off the top of my head, the following is the first to pop in. I have a great relationship with my dad, think of him as my hero. This song touches me in that it speaks of someone that did not have the opportunity to express love and/or make things right before it was too late, so sad.

That song "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" Left my Daddy in tears. It tells us about a real problem, and struggles of getting through it!

Recently one song that has really moved me is "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away." I think as you grow older and lose more and more people, you really wish there was a way to see them.

There are a couple of songs that do this for me - one of them is
"Jesus Take The Wheel" by Carrie Underwood
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
"I was country when country wasn't cool !"

You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one,
I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one.

"Danny Boy" by Celtic Thunder and "End of May" by Michael Buble....and of course a dozen of M's songs.

Certainly Martina's songs !! Of those I think my all time favorite song that moves me is Anyway.
Another song that moves me is : Anne Murray "A Little Good News"

Thank you Carolyn for posting that video, I lost my Dad on October 21st, and the words of that song are so true. I never got to say goodbye so I wrote him a letter to say what I wanted to say and put it in the coffin at the viewing. I sang him Bonnie Raitt's "Circle dance". If there is anything | learned is not to let stupid differences get in the way. Whenever I listen to "Long distance lullaby" it makes me think of him.

Julie I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad !! And yes, how very true : small differences should not stand in the way ! Not always easy to avoid but think the road should definitely always bring us back together, just hope that this happens while there is a chance to say good bye. Think that's one reason this following song moved me so much from first moment I heard it : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPf0Gyy3wSs&feature=related

Julie, I am so sorry about the loss of your Dad, please let me know if I can help. I hope this song helps, even in the smallest measure. Honestly, it is a song that I want played at my own service. To me, it so lovingly speaks of the welcoming, acceptance and embracing of the sun, in this case, the light, love and peace awaiting in Heaven.
