What's Causing All The Website Problems?
What are the main causes of the various problems that we have experienced on here since the launch date?
I've had problems with Google, Twitter, Facebook and this website on/off since early October so website problems aren't limited to this website.
Is it just the internet being the internet?

I've had a few glitches with FB but other than that it's pretty much been limited to mm.com...when you're talking more than just a seldom or random occurrence
( we don't have a hands over mouth smiley?)

Our hosting company has major issues. We are working on moving to a new hosting company within the next few weeks. Unfortunately, when our hosting company goofs (which is out of our control) it makes us, GC, look bad. We're working with them (as I type this) on correcting their networking failures. Sorry about this guys - we're working hard to make it a smooth transition, but I will say it may be a bumpy ride until we make the transition 100%. Hang in there with us.

Brent..thanks for this info. And I know I'm only speaking for myself, but hopefully others too, in saying that I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. And it is nice to know now (ahead of time) that you're changing companies that will hopefully fix all the big issues that have been seen. Now we'll know to hang on tight if there are any big bumps along the way!

Brent, the people who care about Martina and this board are hanging in there. We are also the ones giving the most feedback. It's not meant personally, or being done simply to complain. Martina and her board mean a lot to many of us. Personally, I feel I would be doing both a disservice if I didn't speak up about things that I feel are important. That said, I very much appreciate posts like the one above. It's good to know how things stand and that our concerns are being taken seriously. Thanks.

I hope we are a matter of day's from fixing the server issue. It's a pain in the rear getting to this website now and if it's costing Martina fans... I think head's need to roll at the server.

I will agree that the provider problems are a pain. For me, GroundCtrl has addressed the issue satisfactorily. Sometimes it is outright hard to find a good hosting provider at a reasonable price. Without meaningful data, one has to believe the hosting companies marketing and lots lie. For some companies, it takes several tries before success. I'm willing to give them some time and live with the frustrations, for now.

It averages over 90 seconds for pages to load for me. Been like this for days. Takes close to 5 minutes to open the site, click login, click submit and get to a topic.

Right now pages are loading in less than 3 seconds and I'm using the hotel's outdated computer and IE instead of Firefox.

Seems to be working good in Safari, too. I'll use that over IE. Hopefully everything with Firefox will work itself out before too long. -

Daniel, this is what several of us have been going on about for months now. This point has been made over and over. Frankly, it's gotten to the point were we're about bled out on members.

good question. Let's keep in mind that website problems are not the same as website changes and features. The server issues we had been having have been resolved and the little bugs that come up (like the aweful 404 issues, the weird overlay and all of the other issues in the feedback forum) are part of a new site...trust me, wish it was not so!
As far as a member loss, the fan club/site is at its all time high with new members just 5500 members....that's over 3000 new members since we launched....

That's very good news regarding new FC members. I'm happy to read this. However, what I was referring to was board activity both in numbers of posts and regular members leaving. These things may not be a priority from your point of view, but it does bother me to see people who've been very active for years disappearing.

I concur heidihegnermorris.... this is more like a BORED than a BOARD..... Lots of peeps MIA, and hardly any new peeps joined up- Why aren't all these new members posting on the boards or dropping in to say hello? I have lost interest and this has nothing to do with Martina- its just not the same...I am trying to stick it out- but if it ain't fun - whats the point? I CANNOT even believe Im saying this but even the irritating peeps on the old board are missed by me...at least it was interesting..And, I am well AWARE that I probably top the annoying/irritating list of quite a few members- so I can dish it out, but I can take it as well... Gee, am I off-topic?? How unlike me, huh?? AHAHAHA!!!

I got castigated a couple of weeks ago for daring to suggest people may not bother visiting the site anymore!
I think I had a point as others now are raising the issue on various threads.
Personally speaking, I am sticking around as I enjoy taking part in the Forum - and I'm not even a FC member.

Also in agreement with the peeps on the forums. We like to be busy, chat, talk, mumble, whatever makes any and all of us happy to be in touch with one anotherf. I am here quite often, but some of the regular peeps that I do know are not. Where are you all? And we should be able to pm, what is the point of a non fan clbu member having a profile if he/she can't use it to add friends of leave blogs, etc? Is this also something being worked on?
