Have the changes stopped?
Are all the changes that are going to be made already completed? At one time I could respond to friend requests, but I now have 7 I can't access, and also a comment I can't get to. And lots of us have said that the color combination is hard on our eyes, myself included. I'm beginning to wonder if the idea is to discourage those of us who can't be considered "young" anymore and therefore are more likely to have trouble reading the forum as it is. I'm 45, will be 46 in December, and though I'm sure that sounds ancient to a lot of you who are much younger, I like to think I can't yet qualify as "old"! However, for the past few years I've noticed that using the drugstore variety of reading glasses helps, which is normal for somebody my age. But I never needed reading glasses for this site before. I also wonder if the restrictions on certain factors for non- fan-club members is meant to pressure everybody into joining the fan club. Is that what this is all about - discouraging middle-aged and older people, and forcing us to join the fan club? That's what it looks like, now that the changes appear to have stopped, and the fact that at one time I could respond to friend requests and now I can't. So, those in charge, what's happening?

RE: Have the changes stopped?
All of a sudden I can't even read the Forum text again. It is faint, fine and very, very dark. I didn't change anything since yesterday. So I tried zooming in. This is fustrating because this is the only and I mean only web site that I can't see a thing on, so I don't visit or post as often.

Some of the links, titles and texts are now smaller and lighter making them harder to see and read. While at the same time some that were once smaller and hard to read are now bigger and easier to read. -

Yes Arlene, both my husband and I noticed this as well. Very hard to read!

Phew!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who is affected by these latest "tweaks" to the Forum!
I was wondering if it was just me as I need glasses for reading, but this proves I am not alone.
I am getting tremendous eye-strain trying to read text on here. The black background seems to be even more
user-unfriendly than it was before, now that the new-style fonts have been inflicted upon us!
I'm with Arlene on this one, too - this is the only website that causes me problems trying to read anything!
On a previous post on here (12th Jan), Moderator "Matt" said (re. changes, etc.), that our input was still very valuable as they want this site to be the best possible for us all. Well then, Matt, could we possibly have something done about this latest modification, please, as I'm afraid it's causing problems for us. We just want something that is clearer and easier to read as it's no fun getting eye-strain trying to read our favourite Forum! Thanks!

RE: Have the changes stopped?
Hate to disappoint but I can't complain about the black background with white lettering being user-unfriendly, for me it is userfriendly because while I am viewing computer sites on a 24" screen off to my left, I am also viewing HD TV on a 100" view projector screen, so less white background helps me to keep computer pages up with less light affecting my projector. Plus I keep room overhead light off and have a keyboard with light coming through the letters so I can better type. I use Windows 7 at 125% or even 150% instead of normal 100% setting. I also use Windows 7 graphics personalization to turn all post into having a black background (as ground ctrl had at first)so that following post comments are not bright white background with black type. However, I usually have the lettering color set at yellow, not white. Also when a topic comment is unread, it appears in bright blue(no orange type) but once I read it, then the topic comment turns bright green (no orange) so there is no confusion weither or not I have read any newly added post. But just to complain, I still get a 'that thread no longer exist' every now and then.

RE: Have the changes stopped?
I agree that the changes made to the colors are terrible! They are now worse than they were in the beginning. I have my screen brightness all the way up and it is very hard to read the topics as they are way to dark.

RE: Have the changes stopped?
I'm glad to know I'm not alone!!!! The color combination is TERRIBLE and has been ever since the changes started! And yes, the situation is much worse now than it was even a week or two ago! I have a hard time seeing what I'm typing on the screen!
I admit I don't read or post or even come here anywhere near as often as I used to because of the difficulty in reading the board!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE change the color combination to something that's easier to read!!!

PAULA, See above, my remedy for that. Actually, I am viewing all websites at 150% now and liking it, on my desktop screen, not on my laptop as I have it much closer to my eyes. On windows, in the lower right corner, you can adjust type font size viewing. I am loving the way I can change color combinations myself with Windows 7. Currently when someone post a link, it is in bright blue but after I view the link, then the color changes to bright green. Likewise, every members name is in bright blue but after I visit their 'About me with friend listed page' then their listing name is no longer blue but green, letting me know that I viewed for further info about that person.
