I'll admit, I'm not crazy over GaGa but this is awesome. Lady GaGa and Sugarland aren't artists I would have put together, but it worked so well. I loved it.

Re: Video: Lady Gaga & Sugarland
I kinda avoided watching this cause all i heard was how epic and stellar and great it was..so, i broke down and jus watched it.. LOVE Gaga... and i really, truly do NOT get JNET.. i see her and i cringe.. this pretty much jus sealed it for me- really cant stand her .. i guess now with her performance with Gaga , Sugarland can go ahead and charge double their usual ticket prices- that should put a crappy seat at about 300 bucks.. I used to be a Sugarland fan, but i aint anymore..

I was looking forward to reading this thread and then my hopes were dashed. I thought it was a duel to the death!

Re: Video: Lady Gaga & Sugarland
Jennifer is a little too twangy for my tastes which, of course, fits well in country music. Love Gaga, behind all that makeup and the outrageous costumes she does have genuine talent and CAN sing. Overall, I liked the duet quite a bit.

I Used to be a Sugarland fan too. I think, now, the best that Jennifer does is when she duets with other artists. I thought this was just different enough to have worked.

"A duel to the death" That would have been interesting.
I actually enjoyed it. I almost thought Lady Gaga didn't have all that makeup on. She would have looked so fabulous without the black eyes.. LOL All in all, I think it was a great match. And I still like Sugarland but agree they duet better with others.
Keep your fingers crossed OG, a duel may be in the works from someone else...

Oh, I thought they were awesome! Jennifer rocked it! She was better than Gaga. I thought they're voices actually blended it very well, I thought Jennifer totally stole the show! I love Sugarland and will always be a fan no matter what people say!

Their voices work well together. Thank you for posting this. My concern for Gaga is that the shock value that she presents with her appearance is going to wear itself out. Dustin, I know that you will allow me a lil' derail of this topic to make a respectful point. I would have loved to see the roles reversed here, have Jennifer Nettles in the Gaga persona and vice versa, just for fun and a new type of shock.
i liked the way Madonna shocked, forgive me for repeating a old statement about her, but the way that she reinvented herself. Early into her career, she went from boy toy to:
I think it was the taunting of the senses, the art of the tease as being instrumental in her longevity.

Re: Video: Lady Gaga & Sugarland
My second fav Madonna song.
I never understood how people say the Jennifer Nettles has a good singing voice. She doesn't. Far from it. Lady Gaga can sing and has talent.
This duet is far from a Grammy Moment. No where near great as Eminem and Elton John Grammy Moment.
If I ran away, I'd never have the strength

How would they hear the beating of my heart
Will it grow cold

How will they hear
When will they learn
How will they know -

Yuck...
John
Kudos John...Lady Gaga is an offensive woman who has woven fame out of outrageous and sacrilegious acts on stage rather than true talent, whereas some artists strive for the achievement of true music and remain in anonymity. I don't understand it. -

RE: Video: Lady Gaga & Sugarland
I LOVE Gaga! i also love her ability to be different and to embrace causes that need attention.. i think I am more of a fan of hers due to the fact that she pushes the envelope and then pushes it again and then gives it a kick and a slap.. she seems to be true to herself and i can see how conservatives would run away from her in droves.. wish there were more people like her to support Gay rights and anti-bullying and causes along that genre..she has done amazing work with garnering support for those issues..the world would be a much more boring place without her. its all a matter of opinion..i jus differ 180 degrees from a lot of peeps posting on this thread- yall are entitled to your opinion- i only hope it doesnt mean you condone staying in a box.. like most everybody else- just because she is weird and odd and different doesnt mean she doesnt have a message to deliver.. she shouldn't be ignored jus cause shes odd.. at least she stirs up some thought processes in ordinary folks- gets em going and thinking bout stuff that they wouldnt have cared less about prior to her smashing it in their faces due to her lyrics, fashion etc..
