Not much to disagree with there.
I can grouse about a few though.
    - Would like to have seen Thompson Square get Duo.
    - Would like to have seen Sara get FV. (She's been so good, so solidly country, for so long, yet her day never seems to come.)
    - You and Tequila over the Aldean/Clarkson song would have made me happier.

I agree with most of them, Sugerland for Duo, sorry, this is CMA, not much Country there. Happy with the Band Perry for Single and Song, thought their other award should go to Chris Young. 3 years ago, I thought never Taylor for EOTY, dang, you close CMA Fest Week and you do what you did, I agree with that one

    Def, Taylor for EOTY
I also thought Sara should of won FV
    Brad should have won MV
I really wanted Taylor to win Music Vid and Album but she Entertainer and that's good enough for me.
And go Lady A and Sugarland!

The only award I really disagreed with was EOTY.

What's so wrong with Taylor being EOTY? Everyone is acting like she fixed the CMAs. Did any of you read the article on tasteofcountry.com, why Taylor EOTY? She had the most album, and tickets sales of all of the nominees, and she presented a good image of Country music.

She deserved it. It would have been a travesty to give to someone else.

Martina acknowledges the special talent that encompasses the honor. "Somebody who connects with their audience, whether it be through records or through live performances," is how the five-time (sic) CMA Female Vocalist of the Year defines what makes country's top entertainer. "I don't know if that necessarily means the most people that come to see you, or you sell the most records or have the biggest production. It's more about if people show up and leave feeling like they know you better ... like they experienced something."

"We're all sort of dancing monkeys willing to go that extra mile to entertain those people," says last year's Entertainer of the Year winner, Brad Paisley. "It goes down to the fact that they spent their hard-earned money. That's why it means a lot when you win that."

According to the CMA official website, the award is given to the act "displaying the greatest competence in all aspects of the entertainment field. Voter should give consideration not only to recorded performance, but also to the in-person performance, staging, public acceptance, attitude, leadership, and overall contribution to the Country Music image."

So some here, like my dear old friend Laura! (whose opinion is to be respected), may not like Taylor all that much she was the obvious choice. I happen to like her and most—not all— of her music and I think she's a really nice kid, so I was happy for her when she won.

    Cordially,
    Tom

I would have liked to see Keith Urban win it seems like he always gets nominated in multiple categories every year then gets shut out at the awards. As for Taylor I am indifferent on that one- lets face it she has a large audience and brings more country fans to the table every year not to mention good ratings for networks (=$ - got to love Nashville politics).

It would have been fun to watch Sara Evans take home the trophy. I am a sucker for a good comeback/under dog story and she had a great comeback year.
