Yes, I pre-ordered it too, with much anticipation, from a supplier here in England. It arrived earlier this week and I tend to agree with you, the general "feel" of the album is quite dark. I have still enjoyed listening to it though. Maybe I'm a bit biased, but I am also a long-time fan of Rodney Crowell (who produced this CD).I think the two of them have come up with a really good album and I wish Chely every success with it.

I got mine in the mail today and it left me speechless. I kept thinking about all that she's gone through to be able to release this album and it breaks my heart, but the result is just amazing. I truly think it's just brilliant.

Taking this thread on a little bit further.....has anyone got a favourite track yet?
I like them all, but so far I think one of my faves is "Notes To The Coroner". Despite it's subject matter it's quite a catchy song! Also like "Heavenly Days", "Snow Globe", "Broken" and "Like Me", although as I've just said, I like them all, really.

I find "Heavenly Days" and "Damn Liar" stuck in my head a lot. However, it's still kind of early for me to pick a favorite...a few hundred more listens should do it though. I'm also about half-way through the book and I find myself having a hard time putting it down. I can't believe how long she's kept this secret!
For anyone interested...she's going to be on Oprah wed. 5/19 and I just saw on her facebook that she'll be on Ellen 5/27.

MY favs: "That Train", "Object Of Your Rejection" and "Notes To The Coroner" are the ones stuck in my head the most as far as mid/up tempos go. On the slower side I enjoy "Like Me" and "Shadows Of Doubt".

I LOVE Damn Liar. Notes To the Coroner & Broken are also strong songs. I like most of them and listen to this CD a lot! I want to read the book too.

Finally got around to listening to the album and folks it's friggin' superb!!
Rodney Crowell's awesome production and Chely's beautiful voice makes this album simply brilliant!
Don't have any favorites yet as I'm loving them all but so far Heavenly Days and Notes To The Coroner are sticking out for me.
