Vancouver 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremony
WOW AMAZING. Makes me proud to be Canadian. Some great Canadian star power appeared...K.D. Lang, Anne Murray, Sarah McLachlan, Bryan Adams, Donald Sutherland to name a few...So many fantastic moments in the Opening Ceremonies!
Wishing all the athletes good luck and heres to a GREAT Olympics!
Thoughts and prayers are with the family of Luger Nodar Kumaritashvili.

I have a question. Why is it when I put "TANITH" in a search the first thing that pops up is "TANTIH BELBIN HOT"?
Goodness she is an absolute BEAUTY! Imagine what she'd look like if she ever got into shape! LOL
I'm not into ice dancing but this one may just change my mind about that! -
RE: Vancouver 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremony
I am behind on the skating, darn I will have to find it and watch it.. Yeah you should keep your eye on the ladies, some of them are really spectacular....

I do believe that translation is correct according to the Book of TEEEEE!
It is a hoot when I put her name in a search though. The more letters of her first name I type the "Tanith Belbin Hot" choice keeps moving up the selection list. There must be a lot of shallow peeps out there for that to happen........of which I am NOT one of them. Allegedly.
There was an article recently on my homepage that said she had been instructed by her coach to put on weight and she went from 115 lbs to 125 Lbs. And yet, when I see her she looks just the same as before proving that "muscle weighs more than fat" deal to be true.
And I must come out of the closet on something. No Amy.....Not THAT! Gee whiz. But I followed female figure skating for the World Championships and Olympics from the early Katarina Witt days through Tara Lipinski era. I had a major crush on Katarina Witt and I think I still do. Communist East Germany never looked so good as it did back then! The funny thing is that she was kind of a villaness during that time period because of her icy demeanor. But her real personality is totally the opposite. But she was freaking HOT and my favorite Commie of all times!
She might be my favorite capitalist of all time too! LMAO!!!!!!! -

USA 5 Canada 3.
I'm FURIOUS!!
But not at the outcome. At STUPID NBC!! I hear the commentators talking about how it was just "electric" in the arena tonight. WHat did we see? The last frickin' 30 seconds (if I may use Becky's term.)
All week I'm waiting for hockey, and here we have hockey, and not just any ordinary hockey, but USA-CANADA.
ANd a game where Canada outshot USA 45-22, and we get the last 30 seconds and then a 60 second highlight report!!
WTF?
Well, nice going USA boys. Condolences to our Canadian friends. I know how important this is. I really do--it's akin to the USA losing a baseball game to some foreign interlopers, but even that can't really compare.
Remember though, you're down, but far from out. Now go kick some German butt.
Cordially,
Tom

I heard on the radio today that the game was broadcast on MSNBC last night. Didn't you watch it on that?
The only thing I know about the game last night is that the Team USA goalie played for Michigan State. And I did not even know that until it was mentioned last night. -

No, I didn't know it was on MSLSD.
(I have an aversion to the channel, but I guess I will have to get over it while the Olympics are on.)
THanks for the tip. Now I can keep an eye out.
Yeah, our goalie was HOT! He had that excessively talented Canadian team scratching their heads for 60 minutes wondering WTH do we have to do to get past this guy! Stopped 42 of 45 shots!

Yeah two guys on a local sports program were talking about how NBC put that game on their third tier option and that the regular NBC Olympic braodcast never informed their audience that the game could be seen on MSNBC. NBC's second option is CNBC and MSNBC is their third. So check both those stations if you are wanting to see something that is not being broadcast on the regular NBC.
There may be even more places to view the Olympics other than NBC, CNBC and MSNBC. Someone else may know of yet another outlet.
LOL I 100% get the MSNBC aversion but word on the street is that Chris Matthews was not doing the color commentary for last night's game. That thought makes me shudder and I'm not even a hockey fan!
But I'd be looking for the hockey games outside of the medal round on one of NBC's cable affiliates especially if the games go up against figure skating which is the Winter Games ratings bonanza for TV. Heck, even I had the NBC on in the background waiting for Tanith Belbin! *SWOOOOOON* She fell out of the good looking tree and hit every branch.....and I mean EVERY branch on the way down! Oh. My. Lord. LMAO!!!!!
Yeah when I heard about where the goalie played collegiate hockey I did some quick research on him and indeed he did! And I heard he was the big star of the game with all the saves and the dispproportionate shots on goal the Canadians had over the Americans. -
RE: Vancouver 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremony
I really hate to de-rail this thread. i am watching my local ATL news and they have a human interest segment on my girlfriend, i mean the Olympic skater Tanith Belbin.....seems her parents are residents of the metro atl area- (28 counties if I remember correctly from a post of TEEEE's a while back) So, I will now be calling in ALL favors and/or IOU's from all my peeps ..Must find the Belbins...must find the Belbins...you know, I jus' really wanna congratulate Tanith in person...

You are hardly derailing the topic since Tanith Belbin IS the 2010 Winter Olympics. Matter of fact I just put 2010 Winter Olympics in the search and "Tanith Belbin Hot" was the first option!
That shows there are a lot of shallow peeps in tehe world it seems. Thankfully, I am not one of them.
I'm not surprised that her parents live in Greater Metro Atlanta since those 28 counties (which STILL amazes me) is greater in area than the Louisiana Purchase. 28 counties? Holy crap!
I think tonight is the last night of ice dancing. So once again I'll have the TV on in the background all night to see when "Tanith Belbin Hot" comes on.....errrrrrr......I mean to see who wins the competition.
I'm all about the artistry, y'all. -
RE: Vancouver 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremony

I know how you feel. It was heart breaking to watch them get 4th place for the third time this Olympics. They deserved so much more. -
RE: Vancouver 2010 Olympic Opening Ceremony
I don't think i've ever cried watching a sport before in my life but watching Canadian figure skater Joannie Rochette in her performance the other night, WOW. She is an inspiration to have such a great loss happen in her life and still perform a phenomenal routine.
She made her Country proud.

Speaking of crying, did you see the Russia-Canada game?
7-3 baby!!
If I were a Russian, I'd be crying right about now. They were completely outplayed.
I'm really hoping for a Canada-USA GOld Medal round!

WARNING! The following post is intended for Immature Audiences only and is rated IA. Reader discretion is strongly advised.
Translation......this post is meant soley for Amy.
Apparently there is a movement on to add pole dancing as an Olympic sport.
http://www.wqow.com/global/story.asp?s=12030172
And I see there are 150,000 supporters of this. Well, 150,001 once Amy gets wind of this.
I for one am TOTALLY against this because I am not a shallow person.....unlike Amy. However, if the Olympics are held in Atlanta the USOC can save millions of dollars in building a new venue as Amy's living room is all set up for this event already with that Kid Rock inspired contraption of her's prominantly displayed in her living room.
And they could possibly use the old Gold Club facility for the preliminary rounds. I'm always thinking. About what......I'll never tell.
I can see Amy being a judge for this event too along with Pac Man Jones, the NBA and the Sons of Anarchy......except for Clay because stuff like this "makes his skin crawl" as it does mine. I am wondering if the event will be scored on a 10 point system or if the competitors are scored on how many $1 bills they collect during their routine? I'll let Amy figure that out.
On the other hand Amy may want to coach one of these teams since she has a 28 county area to draw talent from. Team Wild Bill's would be a nice start.
And you would not have to worry about this event being tainted by steroids but there might be an "enhancement surgery" scandal if Amy has her way. Just sayin'......
But anyways, mark me down as being 100% against this movement because I have CLASS......unlike Amy.
