Valentine's Day (Movie)
I wouldn't normally go within 100 yards of this type of movie but of course I have to see it because my girl Jessica Alba is in it.
It looks like it's fun, if you like this type of 'chick/date' movie and if you take it for what it is, but it is nothing fantastic as evidenced by the only (*edited to relect updated %*)17% positive Rottentomatoes.com reviews: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/valentines_day_2010/. I read quite a few of the negative and posituve reviews and none of them commented much on how good or bad the actors were, except quite a few said Taylor Swift was horrible in her role. One reviewer even described her as "The tone deaf Taylor Swift", which made me chuckle.![]()
Has anyone read any reviews where the actual cast is critiqued one by one instead of just the movie as a whole?

I saw it and I loved it... although my ratings on movies doesn't mean much... I loved All About Steve and apparently everyone hates that movie (except Tia and I for sure lol)...but I thought Vday was really cute and funny!

I know of at least three different people who saw it and they all really liked it. I hope to see it this weekend with my mother.

Cute and funny. That's it in three words!
We just came from the theater. Loved it.
Predictable and often improbable, but hey, it's the movies. And it's Garry Marshall film.
No less improbable than those unwatchable action/cartoon movies that seem to come out once a week.
I'll add Touching to your list too Miss Terry. I liked the kiss on the Venice bridge at the end.
My favorite characters were those of Anne—Best Eyes in Show Business—Hathaway. I liked Jessica Biel and her character, and although you could see ti coming hours away, I liked the pairing of Kutcher & Garner.
I also thought Taylor played her part well, but she is not the actor that the rest of the cast are.
Suzanne was surprised that Patrick Dempsey was cast, or allowed himself to be cast, as the film's only unlikable character.
3 stars.
Cordially,
Tom

RE: Valentine's Day (Movie)
I don't know now if I'm going to go see it.
As I said, I'm only interested because Jessica Alba is in it so maybe I'll save my money and see it when it comes to the library for free or rent it from that Redbox machione for $1.00. I'm not a fan of anyone else in the movie. My daughter will never go see it because she said I've made her sick of Jessica Alba!
(When I like someone I talk about them all the time, so she is also sick of Beyonce.....and Martina!
She's used to James Brown though since I indoctrinated her when she was in the womb.
)My wife probably will see it when it comes out on DVD also. Anyway, the movie made up it's budget cost in the 1st weekend, $52 million, and was by far the biggest movie, so hopefully it will make a profit.

(Any movie with Sandra Bullock in it is good).

My 16 year old daughter had no in tentions of seeing this movie, but she is staying over my wife's friend's house in Manhattan for a few days to visit her 17 year old daughter and the daughter wanted to see it, so they went last night at 10 PM. I think they saw it free because we have Optimum and you can see movies in Clearwateer Cinemas for free. (I told you my wife was cheap). Anyway, I haven't heard what my daughter thought of the movie yet. Now I have to go see because she did.

Oh Anne Hathaway had me rolling with laughter the whole time... DANG!! lol
I thought Taylor did a pretty good job actually (and that's bc I don't really like her) I thought she was hilarious...I loved the exchange between her and Garner in the elevator...that was really funny.
Now can I say that I LOVE Bradley Cooper..like love love love love him....so lets just say I was shocked lmao!!
I loved how everyone in some way was connected to someone else...that was neat.
I too loved the pairing of Kutcher and Garner...too sweet.
And who doesn't love George Lopez? lol
Btw...Julia Roberts last scene = me sobbing! lol

And who doesn't love George Lopez?
I can't stand him. I used to like him until I figured out he really is a racist against the white race. He goes way beyond the pale in his 'white' jokes and he even called Sarah Palin the 'b' word in Spanish on his show and said she has 'special needs' which is very insulting considering she has a special needs child. If some Republican said all these racist jokes aganst Hispanics and called some liberal a 'b' and used a term that describes her child in referring to her on his show, rest assured the show sould be cancelled and all the news aganecies would fall over themselves to get in on the action. Lopez is a true lowlife. -

George Lopez is NOT loved by all. Far from it. So you just ignore what he does with his racist jokes and calling someone a 'b' on his show in Spanish? I hope his show gets cancelled. Anyway, my daughter also can't stand him, not only because he is a racist but because of those stupid faces he makes after telling one of his lame 'white' jokes, where he sticks out his tongue, his eyes bulge out and he jumps around to the side.
And my daughter just saw this movie and she said it was one of the worst movies she has ever seen in her life.
She thought every actor was horrible (yes, even my Jessica Alba,
) except for Julia Roberts at the end. She said Taylor Swift was BEYOND horrible. I think I'll definetely just wait for a free library DVD and not waste my money on this just to see Jessica Alba for 5 minutes!

I thought it was a cute touch for the driver to ask her if she had ever shopped on Rodeo Drive.
So Garry Marshall!
Sorry for you about the Bradley COoper character Terry. You should have heard the groans from the audience!

I don't resent him. I used to like hgim before I found out he hated white people. And I don't resent Taylor Swift. Facts are facts. She isn't much of a singer and most reviews say she can't act, although some did like her performance.

Oh, when is SVU on? I keep forgetting and keep missing it.
OK, I saw the movie tonight and I am surprised that I actually enjoyed it! Jessica Alba was very good in her small part but otherrs had bigger parts. Everyone was very good I thought except Taylor Swift who was way over her head here. She clearly is not ready for such a role and only got it because of her star power.
I laughed out loud a few times, like when Jennifer Garner went to the restaurant and when the guy caught Anne Hathaway on the phone.
