I Give Up
I can't take it anymore. I think I'm gonna just give up on this place. Not only are 90% of my friends gone, from Chattanooga to Fernley, from Tampa Bay to Boston, but the site continues to be dark, hard to read, hard to navigate, hard on the eyes.
Not a threat.
Or a promise.
Just a thought.
Am I wrong?

I'm with Ally on this one. Can we just get it even close to what it was with the old forum? The website is all well and dandy, cool even...but the forum...well I'll just say it like some have, its not as fun. And it really is hard to see against the black when replying or reading the main topic. I am not posting as much as before. I still check in but not as much and I will ALWAYS be a Martina Fan!

The cufon font replacement is killing me. I get a relatively nice looking legible page for a couple of seconds .. read the first few lines .... then the cufon replacement kicks in to replace the origin font with something like the museo, which although a stylish font is way less readable here.
If we have to wait for the font replacement (and yes web safe fonts can be dull) can it at least be to a more legible font not a less legible one.

I have to agree with you, this website is like a ghost town compared to the old Martinaville. It is depressing to us longtime Martina fans to see the website go downhill so quickly. I seriously doubt that it can come back to it's former glory unless drastic changes are made. And even then I wonder how many of the longtime fans will come back to it. I know that Martina is aware because we have been e-mailing back and forth with Tracy about some issues we have had with GC.

If you want to know the remedy or solution to this whole forum problem then just go look at the old Martinaville and duplicate it to a T! We had very little to no complaints about that forum. I liked everything about it. I like very little about this forum. If you want to make the people here happy then just start implementing some of their suggestions instead of asking what can we do? We have all said what can be done just waiting on it to be done!

For what its worth, the flicker seems much less pronounced this morning ( a second or so vs the 10 or 15 seconds last night which prompted my comment).
Not sure I'd ever say rip it out to a design/dev team
...but revisiting the particular font or even its properties could help. Trust me I like some variety/stylishness in fonts too it jazzes up the place...so if the team can look at the factors involved it would be nice (they may have a good replacement or they may say easier to rip it out...and I think they are allowed to say that) . Thanks for investigating.

Wow there are a lot of unhappy people on here. I have had the same problem with the entering the forum, where the cursor has to be exact on the topic,I thought that ws just me but obviouslty a fault. I'm sure GC are onto it.
Now I haven't been part of the Fanclub as long as a lot of you on here. I was fortunate enough to be part of Martinavillle for a while before the crossover. I do have to admit that I did prefer that more and the fact that anyone could be part of the forum and due to the loss of Martina ville,it doesn't seem as much of a group. I will always be in the fanclub though just to show my support for her as an artist. As I'm from the UK, I never really expected much in the way of prizes and extras as she's not over here alot.
However I do see that they're just trying to keep it hip and uptodate and it's hrd to please us all. I have every faith in Martina and John and am sure they're on the case. I hope all you peeps stay around and give em chance to fix this,as Martina needs us and loves us.

YEP LOL! I think close to 13! I started when M's Emotion came out and i saw the web address! just shortly after i joined Martinaville was born! i have been through many board changes! they have all been for the better but I like the colors of this one just a bit dark and all the forum is blahh but i wanted to give it a try!

I agree with Tom, Ally, Dayna, and others on some of these "same old, same old" issues!
As I sit here typing, my eyes are straining to read the white print against the black background.
I've cut WAY back on how often I read and post here since the changes. It just takes too long to decipher the often illegible "white on black" words. Coming here is supposed to be fun, and when I have to work that hard to read the words people have taken the time to type, it becomes "work" and not fun.
The difficulties here have caused me to lose interest. The "these things take time," "we're working on it," etc. pat answers we get don't hold up anymore, now that it's been 3-4 months!
I finally bit the bullet tonight and joined the fan club just now, mainly for access to everything on here. However, I don't see that being a fan club member clears up any of the problems.
Obviously I'm not going anywhere since I just spent money to join the fan club, but my interest in reading and posting on this board is much less now that it was before the changes.
