American Idol 2011
For those of you protesting AI because Simon and Paula are not on it anymore
You don't know what you are missing !!
Jennifer Lopez is a very good judge and mentor, and Steven Tyler is witty and funny.
I don't miss Simon or Paula at all.
There is a lot of good talent this year. Particularly if you like exceptional vocalist,
check out Pia Toscano and Lauren Alaina. Pia has potential of being another Martina or Celine.
Lauren will for sure get a country music contract out of this.
Another contestant you will probably hear more about in the country music is Scotty McCreery.
If you like rock, check out James Durbin.
After tonight it will be the top 10, so it may be worth watching if you haven't already.

Agreed Steve- I LOVE simon but really havent missed him. I was a big paula fan when i was like 10.. but she's kinda whacko anymore. :) LOL I think this year has TONS of talent. I cant really say i dislike any of them.
I think Scotty will win but I like Paul Casey and Pia... .

My final 3: Pia, James, Stefano. Pia is so strikingly beautiful to me, and could most likely tackle any Christina Aguilera song and nail it - love her! I think everyone will be sorry if Casey wins - I think he has the Taylor Hicks appeal - then will go away and people will wonder why he won. Scotty is too Josh Turner sounding, Naima? Neima? Niame? She just confuses me. If she didn't dress so uniquely I think she would have gotten lost in Hollywood week. Paul Casey is different - but if he doesn't tour with a Rod Stewart cover band I'm not sure what else he will do. Lauren has the Kelly Pickler fun factor...and Jacob has an amazing voice, but he would probably be forgotten like Ruben Studdard.
So...there's my 2 cents. It's my opinion, and it ought to be yours :)
(oh, and I'm not putting money on any of my choices - that's how confident I am)

Who went home this week? I didn't get to catch it! I have not heard this Scotty, but I'm kinda hoping he wins because he sings Country a lot, actually I haven't been able to hear most of the singers because I have Choir practice on Wednesdays.

i only think scotty will win because country fans seem to keep their favs in the running and hes def a fav there..
Who should win_ PIA.... she made it to Hollywood on Season 6 and 7 too I believe.
I love love Paul though.. dang he's cute.

For those that missed it. - Nobody went home last night. Casey was saved by the judges
and almost fainted on stage. All 11 will go on the AI tour.
I thought for sure Niama or Thia would be booted, but what do I know :-)
Pia definitely has the superior vocals. She has the complete package.
It is a pretty tough one to pick who may win it.
Lauren may take a lot of the country votes from Scotty, so I am not sure
about Scotty being the winner.
I would like to at least see Lauren and Pia in the finals. Both would be very marketable.
But have a feeling they may be out voted by the rockers and James will surprise us. -

As for watching it, I've seen some of the live shows but just the very end...that's when i seem to work the most is those 2 nights. I've pretty much liked Lauren since day 1. I think she's super talented, but then again they all were so it's to hard to pick an early favorite.

I never watched AI much before this season... never could stay interested. But I LOVE Steven and Jennifer. They make it so much fun to watch. I love so many people on that show... Scotty, Lauren, Pia, Cassey, and Stefano. :)
