    Statement released from Christina Aguilera:

"I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through."

No if it was Taylor Swift, people would've been harder on Taylor, look how she was treated at last year's Grammy's.

I think it's just safe to say we will never hear Taylor sing the National Anthem. So no worries on that front.

You know I said I wasn't impressed, not so much by the fact that she forgot parts of it, but her overdone way of singing it. And if she had prompters, well what's up with that?

The best way for singers to get attention is to mess up a song or have a wardrobe malfunction during a hugely watched appearance.

How many would like Martina to do one or the other during such a big event in order to become a #1 trending online topic for at-least a day?

Couple years ago, I would've raised my hand because Martina needs to be more well known... now I'm not so fast to raise my hand because being popular and more well known isn't always a good thing.

I notice that pop singers do a lot of that overdone stuff. They embellish and modify to add their "runs" as the Idol folk like to call it. What they really are doing, inadvertently I suppose, is hiding that fact that they can't hold the note for more than a second. I guess that's OK for people who like the sound of the voice, but in doing so, the song is lost. In this case, the singer not only forgot about the song, she forgot the words.

These singers need to learn how to "put the song on", as it were, to get inside the song and let themselves fade into the background, just as great actors do.

I just thought I'd post the video...Now that I've had the chance to watch it again, I don't think it's all that bad...I know she messed up the words, but I think people are being a bit too critical...

I don't watch American Idol, but my wife said the guy was Simon Cowell, anyway, he was interviewed on Fox and Friends this morning and said it sounded like 100,000 people all sat on a cat at the same time, maybe should have watched him a time or 2, he hit it on the head

Poor Xtina...gets to play the part of letting the WhiteDove sing and now there's a bunch of reckoning about her lyrics addition..(writeBwrong)..be easy on her.....she's from the old school Disney "Mickey Mouse Club" from 1993 to show ending in 1994 'with Justin TimBerlake. She said "What soo proudly we watched, at the twightlights last gleaming" Besides this SuperBowl setting new viewing records....I also proudly watched with my big bottle of Bacardi Rum.. Speaking of the twightlights last gleaming points...A 23 yard (3 point kick) Field Goal by MaSon Crosby to beating PittsBurgh with 31 ending score....I can certainly relate 2 it....as I had a Bride from PittsBurG CansAs when 23, that I (kicked out)divorced against win I was 31....But them quartback ram to parts of the game with #85 #86 #87 players scoring keep more to what Martina McBRIDE 'what see said' when she sang earlier for PittsSteelers....well done by the way.
    * Relativity, well relative enough that I can relate 2 it *

I just think when you sing the anthem you should not add words, like she did, she added the word Yeah, near the end, it's just disrespectful. Here is my favorite version... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_nQ-GNdo3E

Okay guys...this thread really has nothing to do with Martina and some of the posts are less than...nice. Probably time to start winding it down.

TMZ obtained footage of the National Anthem rehearsals -- shot Saturday in Cowboys Stadium.

Christina not only gets all of the lyrics correct -- but the delivery was Whitney Houston-esque.
